Cut Cardstock is rocking!

Hi gals. I am so excited to show you some projects that I made for Cut Cardstock. What? You haven't heard of Cut Cardstock before? Oh my! Well, let's see- do you love cardstock? You know that really thick, high quality kind of cardstock that makes you drool? How about metallic shimmer cardstock- really high quality and beautiful cardstock? Are you like me and am willing to pay extra for the better paper, because honestly, as much as I love patterned paper- I need high quality cardstock as a base- But then, when you are ready to pay for this ultra luxurious cardstock, you find out that it is even less expensive than the flimsy stuff . If you answered yes to any of these- you have got to check out http://www.cutcardstock.com/. I am so in love. The paper is awesome, the card bases and envelopes are to die for (holiday season is right around the corner and we all need lots of cards-wink, wink), and the prices are so reasonable!! The gals are super nice and they'll take good care of you. What more can we ask for?

So, Norma at Cut Cardstock asked me to be their guest designer for this month- lucky me!! I was so impressed with their cardstock, card bases and envelopes. They literally have everything a scrapper could ever hope for. I made a few things- hope you like them.

This is a "Spooky" halloween banner that is hanging in my home- I know, it's still September- but not for long:) I used a Maya Road scalloped coaster book as the base. I used the kraft cardstock (or brown bag cardstock) for the base with some new Bo Bunny Boo Crew halloween paper. I used the black 80# cover weight cardstock and cut out letters with my Slice. I added some glitter, foam dotted the letters and some embellishments- how fun!

and here are some close ups:

This is a cute card that I made using Cut Cardstock's Pop-Tone Hot Fudge card base. The brown is a creamy, rich cocoa color- yum. I used some basic grey papers, a stampin' up stamp that I heat embossed, and Jenni Bowlin mini letters. I stamped the deer on Cut Cardstock's Curious Irridescent cardstock in cryogen white. This paper is perfect for stamping ans it has the most beautiful irridescent shimmer to it!

This was a cute little Thinking of You card. I used Cut Cardstock's magenta A7 folded invitation card base and the same Cryogen white cardstock for the oval. I used some Cosmo Cricket paper and stitched around the edge of the oval. I cut some felt into flowers and leaves- and there yo have it! Thanks girls for checking out my stuff and check out Cut Cardstock- they really are a great company with product that is sure to please you :)

September's MLS + Hero Arts

Hey gals. This month, Hero Arts has participated in a product was with MLS. They were very generous with us- Thank you Hero Arts!!- and we had the opportunity to play- my fav!
This layout is of Suzy and myself doing who knows what- typical. I used the Little Lady paper line- too cute. Instead of stamping on white paper and coloring in the areas- I stamped directly on MLS paper and cut out each piece, then paper pieced it- do you all remember paper piecing? I always loved it and as we all know, what was old is now new. I am reminded of this everytime I pick up my son at the high school- it's like being in the 80's all over again, but without the "hair bears".

This is my Dad and my Aunt Renee. I used the Who's Loves You line. I stamped the owl on cardstock and accented the spots with mini bling. The trunk is a small Hero Arts woodgrain stamp that I repeated and cut into a trunk. Love it!

Lastly, I made this card with Imagine A Forest papers. I stamped the leaves (again Hero Arts stamps) and heat embossed it. Then I cut them out and voila- beautiful leaves for my Thinking of You card.

I just love how MLS is so versatile- we have been blessed by all of these product swaps and there has not been a single product that hasn't complimented MLS products and vice versa. Can't wait to show you all our next assignments :)

Love the Little Ladies

Hey there all of you scrappy ladies. So the kids are back to school, and I'm finding that even though I now have this strange school schedule to follow (can't school districts make it easy on parents and have a consistent schedule- every day my kids have a different pick-up schedule), I am finding that I now have a little time to myself. Which of course means scrapping time- what better way to use my time than scrap.
So this month, I was able to play with MLS's Little Lady line. This line is so gorgeous!! I love the bright vibrant colors! Am I the only one that loves MLS more and more each month?
What I really love about MLS papers is that you have the option to use the fun colorful fronts or the more muted backs- the backs are a great substitute for cardstock! It gives you a beautiful solid color with just enough texture to make your layout pop.

This layout is of my pup Pumpkin and myself. I just love this picture!! I had so much fun layering the MLS papers - they are so complimentary. I glimmer misted some flowers and blinged up the page a bit.

Here's another picture of Pumpkin. She had just returned from her "spa day" and posed for this picture. I love the lady bugs on this paper and decided to make one from a few circles, bling and wire. The die cuts are awesome too- whether for journaling or just as a base for embellishments- they rock!!

I used the backs of the Little Lady papers for this layout. I glimmer misted the green patterned paper and hand stitched around the edges. This is a simple layout, but sometimes less is more. I also colored the doll overlay with copic markers. They are so much fun to alter!

Lastly, I made this cute little card. I used a flower tag as the sun and colored another little doll overlay. Have you used the overlays yet- they are so much fun to use. You can use them as is, stickle the daylights out of them, paint behind them, and color them with alcohol based markers

I have some other cute things that I've been working on for My Little Shoebox that I'll be showing you soon. :)
